The Shit I Find in NY
I just found what I’ve been looking for and it wasn’t something I was looking for…I’ll let that sit with you. But I’m extremely excited and impressed by my new endeavor, The Shit I Find in NY. I fell in love with journalism and interviewing people because it let us meet new people and show that everyone has a story. I think that’s beautiful; the fact that we can live our lives passing thousands of people without ever thinking twice about what’s going on in their lives. To actually find out what a stranger’s life is like is like unwrapping a present. Refer to Charlie bucket and how he carefully opened up his chocolate bar ever so precisely and appreciatively. That’s how interviewing makes me feel.
Even so, I created this blog on a whim. I randomly take pics of shit that catches my attention in NY. More so recently than before. Just for myself, not really to share. Funny thing is is I don’t take as much pictures as I would because I don’t want to feel like a tourist. But, ah ha! I created the blog and as I look up and link the sources in the pictures, it’s so magical to me because I notice that I’m achieving what interviewing does for me; appreciatively opening up inconspicuous gifts. Linking and opening. I love it. Same reason why I love PR…well for the linking different audiences that is.
So here it is, my new blog. Check it out. Support. Do what you do.
Come open some gifts with me :-)
